Would body builder protein drinks be an useful supplement to the Atkins diet?

December 18, 2011 No Comments

I’ve decided to do the Atkins diet as it seems to be an excellent choice given my Diabetes and other health concerns. I’m having trouble getting enough protein at every meal as I don’t eat meat or eggs and my family refuses to eat fish, or even have it cooked in the house. I wondered if body builder protein drinks would be a useful supplement to the Atkins diet, so I asked my nutritionist. She said that I can add protein powder to the items I eat, especially a smoothie in the morning, but I’ll also have to increase the amount of exercise I’m doing to help use the extra protein. I should also keep my calories at a relatively high level to help me get through my work-outs without feeling tired and worn down. As soon as I reduce the amount of exercise I’m getting I’ll also have to reduce how much protein and calories I take in. Works for me!
